The hotel is a bit older and hasn't been updated. I couldn't closer the curtains in my room so woke up to a very bright room. Nice that there's lots of reading options around the hotel. I stayed in a room across the hall from the ice machine and it was quite loud every hour or so as it cycled water through. The hotel has self Park as well as valet. I ended up valeting my car for $25/night.
The hotel isn't bad, nice location. Staff is nice but the rooms feel like they're missing something. It's the same story with the breakfast buffet and the pool, almost made it but just missed. They charge gold members for hot breakfast and the pool is a joke, I don't even know why they built it. Parking is $16 a day in a somewhat confusing garage. On the plus side the lounge is a nice place to relax, have a drink and watch the game. Will probably stay again because the number of Hilton properties within the area and affordability is limited.
Edited: Still, a year later, this is the worst Hilton for business travel. Requires you to manually check-out to get a receipt instead of just automatically emailing them to you like every other Hilton.Original:Not for frequent business users that rely on receipts for reimbursement. I have complained the past several times I've stayed here (this year) that they haven't been emailing me my receipt (like every other Hilton does). Receipts are how I track reimbursements, so I've almost forgotten getting $$$ reimbursed this year. I will never stay here again. I don't have hundreds of dollars to blow away when I forget.
Overall was satisfied with my stay. I spent 3 days there for a work event, but did not stay the night. I recieved a $65 parking ticket on the first day. They refused to void it even though I did purchase a parking pass. My event organizer did not specify that parking was or was not covered and I didn't realize it wasn't. Normally when I attend a work event and use a conference room, there are pens and paper provided. They provided neither. It's attached to an Asian mall, which is nice for a quick food option, if you like Asian food.
Hilton Vancouver Metrotown was a beautiful hotel in an area right outside of Vancouver. It was a train ride away from the city. Our room was spacious and clean. The room had ample mirror space for easy mornings getting ready. The breakfast was superb and the host at the breakfast area soon became our friend and helped us with our planning for the day. He took a special interest in us and was so sweet. The staff overall was very complimentary. The view was pretty from our room except for the construction site below. I would definitely come stay here again if I'm ever in the area again.
