We were asked to evacuated the hotel due to a fire next door. Staff were generous and brought out towels and blankets since it was cold outside. They also provide water bottles. Hotel also provided complimentary breakfast at a nearby Denny's while we waited to be allowed to go back into the hotel. During check out hotel deducted the night of the fire. I think they didn't have to do that since it wasn't their fault but they did. Hotel breakfast is good and rooms are clean.
The room was well kept, and everything was exactly as to be expected, except for a rather small bathroom. The beds were comfortable and continental breakfast was complimentary, and made right. The only minor gripe I had would be that it was further from downtown than we expected, but a $35.00 cab ride got us there in heavy traffic in about 30 minutes. All in all it was a positive experience, though hardly memorable.... Just how I like it to be.
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport, since we were flying home the next day. (It took us approximately 30 minutes to get to the airport from the hotel).The outside area and the room were extremely clean, and the pool was beautiful and clean also.The only negative thing I could say is that the room itself was extremely small, and there was not enough room to open our suitcases, unless we put them on the bed. We ended up storing them under the sink!I would not recommend this hotel for a long-term stay, but for a night or two, it was fine.
The staff is exceptionally good. Very friendly and warm wonderful, proffessional and fast. Unfortunately the food was not that great. Bacon was super skinny and tasted like plastic, sausage was not very tasty. The ac unit kept us up all night as well as the fridge. The rooms are clean and decor is nice.
Hotel staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Room was very clean and breakfast was great. A great place to stay. Walking distance to metro town mall and local restaurant. You will love your stay. We stayed 7 nights and we were glad we choose the BW Burnaby.
