Nice place for a quick bite. They carry a lot of fresh Northern Indian sweets. Good for takeaways as there are few tables only.
A customer since 2003, produce is pretty good and the pharmacy is very friendly! There's a regular flyer to let you know of the sales and new products . The stock people are also pretty good at directing a customer to a certain product in a certain aisle .
There are 2 Safeway stores on East Hastings Street in Burnaby.This Safeway is located on the South side at 4440 East Hastings between Gilmore and Willindon. This store was fully renovated a few years back and is slightly above street level with street level and underground parking available. This a clean bright store with every thing you need from a major supermarket including a pharmacy,bakery,fresh fruits,vegetables,etc. And a public bathroom too. And daily hot food specials like fully cooked bar b qspareribs on Tuesdays for $9.00 or 9 pieces of southern fried chicken on Thursday for $9.00.And the staff are friendly and helpful.
It is certainly a safeway! Never had a problem or anything, but they did start keeping the sensodyne toothpaste behind the counter at the front which is weird.
Good and well maintained supermarket. However the toilet was busted while I was there so that was a bummer. The various offers that they have are pretty good and I usually do my shopping here as its just next to a convinient bus stop that goes right up to my house.
