After reading some of the other, negative reviews on here I figured I should let you know my experiences seeing as the doctor helped me SO MUCH.I started treatment at the end of 2017 after being referred by my dentist and having suffered from a locking, popping jaw for months which was very painful. The whole process was smooth and professional - from the initial testing (which showed the causes of so many issues i was having) all the way through the treatment (4 months of wearing a guard which is not as bad as you may think), to the re-assessment at the end (which showed huge improvements in my jaw alignment and resulting in a complete elimination of my symptoms) and the after-care checks-ups. At every point of care I felt like i was being heard, that the staff cared how I was doing and the results were fantastic! I would definitely recommend this clinic and staff to anyone with the same issues. The treatment has improved my standard of living significantly. Thank you!
I have been suffering from very bad TMJ pain for the past 3+ years and really didn't know where to turn after my doctor and dentist told me they couldn't help. I was nervous going out alone with no references on where to go next. I had a few consultations at different places, and with encouragement from an osteopath, I decided to go with the proposed treatment from the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre as the least invasive and radical treatment. I wore the guard for many months, 24 hours a day. It took a bit of getting used to but you get through the adjustment and get used to it. Long story short, I have gone from taking multiple high doses of pain killers every day - to complete pain relief. My life is completely changed and improved. I get the occasional flare up of pain if I am particularly stressed but that I can deal with. I found the office to be friendly, professional and personal to my case. Dr. Pirani gave me personal tips based on readings around my particular symptoms which I really appreciated. My overall experience was excellent.
STAY AWAY!!! A woman named AMAN is an absolute distrustful receptionist and patient coordinator. I am a first time patient who has never been to the clinic and booked an appointment 3 weeks ago and also was on the wait list for a cancellation. When calling today to see if there was anything sooner for me than my May 22nd appointment , I was told there was no such booking for me. A receptionist Jasmine argued with me that I never made an appointment. I asked to speak to the girl whom I actually booked it with. So she said ok... I'll get her. LOL if I did not have an appointment how would you know whom I booked it with??! Clearly they made a mistake and bumped me out of my appointment. Anyways this AMAN gets on the phone and pathetically lies about my appointment booking to cover up her mistake. I have a whole team of people that look after my calendar and all of us had this date that was booked. I personally booked the appointment with AMAN three weeks previous. AMAN said she did not book the appointment with me and they did not have me booked in. Please note my situation is a referred emergency situation and there is a long wait time to get an appointment so rescheduling is not an option for me. I was also quite upset as I have changed shows, airline tickets , etc to accommodate this 90 minute appointment. I said this is not acceptable and I needed to talk to someone higher up at the office. In fact she told me I could only talk to her and that it was my fault I did not have an appointment! She was laughing and attempting to talk to me like a child. She began to degrade me on the phone as if I was some airhead who did not know how to book an appointment. She began to yell at me that I did not know what I was talking about. GOOD LORD! Also that because of my "conduct" since I was upset with her, I was no longer allowed in the clinic. What a piece of work. You better believe I stuck up for myself and she sure did not like that! I have reported this situation to the College , the Better Business Bureau, and a few other places. I still am in shock that this situation has even occurred.This is the first SERIOUSLY BAD REVIEW that I have ever written. I am a very classy and polite woman and I am not taking this sitting down. I have had it with nasty,rude receptionists ignorantly putting down or humiliating patients, clients, customers or anyone over the phone. This particular girl needs to be reprimanded and have her conduct reported. My team is going to make sure that happens. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE there are many other lovely clinics with amazing doctors in the city to choose from.
I have been a patient of this clinic since 2014. The reason I decided to write this review was that I googled their webpage to refer a friend, but I stumbled across their google reviews and realized that the reviews were not a wholesome reflection of the office. I was in TMJ treatment for four months in 2014, and then have visited the clinic every 6 months or so for follow-ups. The office is professional, the staff are very polite and gentle, and my doctor was patient. The front desk staff went beyond assisting me with claims and accommodating me. The staff has changed quite a bit since I first starting seeing them but Aman is still a familiar face. She's a calm and gentle personality who sees her patients through from the start of treatment to the end. I would highly recommend visiting the clinic if you have experienced TMJ for a long time and have tried everything! I have little to no pain now!
ZERO STARS - Do not go to this clinic!!!! I dont usually post any type of review but I want to warn potential patients before they throw away $4000 like I did. Initially the clinic seemed legit and I was told they absolutely could assist me and I felt hopeful for the first time In years as I have struggled with severe chronic jaw and facial pain for the last 9 years. The major part of the treatment is a dental appliance you wear 24 hours a day for 3 months: this costs about 4000. I was also told I would get trigger point injections and other treatment as needed. The doctor was initially friendly but once the treatment amount was paid in full after my 4th visit she changed completely. She was annoyed that I was not seeing any relief and constantly tried to shift blame to me or refer me to some other specialist as there was no way her treatment wasnt working. I was only given trigger point injections twice at which point I was told they had already done too many and they were very expensive.. even though these were actually helping m! By my last visit she straight up told me she didnt believe I was still in pain, that my jaw was now fixed and called me a drug addict for having to still take medication for my pain... needless to say I did not return. Once I stopped wearing the dental appliance my symptoms actually got worse.. I wish I had never gone there in the first place as I am now back at square one and money down the tube.
