Great fine dining with awesome service and a good menu. Good wine and beer selection which supports local establishments. Location is very good : have a nice stroll in the park to warm up your appetite.
The Hart House has maintained its high calibre of cuisine over the years. Fantastic dining experience in the tranquil setting of Deer Lake. Wonderful spot for a date and beautiful venue for weddings. (We had our wedding here a decade ago and Sonja and the staff was fantastic.) The service is attentive and accommodating without being hovering.On this trip to Vancouver, we were initially hesitant to have dinner here with our two young children, but we ended up with another great experience. Highly recommended!
The mussels and clams appy is highly recommended. Cooked until perfectly tender, and the smoked ham-hock broth went so well with the table bread. We even took the rest to go with us. The Hart House burger was very nicely done. Crab and shrimp roll also good but a bit on the salty side. House-cut fries had lots of potato skin on and tasted fantastic.Outside patio area has a great view of the lake. While waiting for the food, take a stroll through the historic building. Pricing is very reasonable here.
Historical building, lake side view, large green field, outdoor sitting plus the fine dining, everything add together is quite perfect. Either you spend some time to walk to the lake side before or after the dinner will make it much more satisfying. But make sure you finish it before sunset, otherwise it will be too dark/cold for the walk. Waitress are very nice. Overall give me a peaceful feeling.
We celebrated our Wedding with Hart House early September and wow, what an incredible day! Everything from the picturesque Venue, delicious food and brilliant staff made our day that more special!
