I don't tend to right many reviews but wanted to make sure I left one for Grace at the Burnaby RCMP Front Counters department. I came in to get a record check. My last visit to this branch was to pick up belongings that belonged to my sister who had passed away. I was able to bring up to Grace through conversation how hard it was to make this trip to the RCMP and she helped me with a lot of empathy and was clear about the process. Thank you Grace for allowing me to feel safe to come to the RCMP again. I can't speak much for the officers I've worked with in the past, but it gives me a sense of security knowing there is good at the RCMP.
While 3 stars is a little harsh since the reason I ended up getting what I wanted my trip ( simple documentation) I can't help but feel like my trip could've been better. For instance, the receptionist had a very uninspiring and somewhat aggravating tone throughout our conversation. I couldn't help but fear like she was somewhat intimidated throughout our conversation for some reason unbeknownst to me. Similarly, she spent more time than necessary and parking here is atrocious.
Do Canadians want to see something really funny? In Canada, exposing racism by using racial slurs can land you with jail term and a criminal record. However, hiding racism against visible minorities and causing REAL DAMAGE IN EMPLOYMENT is 100% legal. Even Canadian government's own crown corporations are now utilizing hidden racism tactics against visible minorities because it is so effective and legal. I believe I was a victim of racism from ICBC. They are looking for ways to fail my commercial driver's license. This is what happened. You be the judge.To the RCMP, now crown corporations' examination standards are NOT required to use EVIDENCE in passing or failing their candidates. Examiners' imaginations alone are adequate. Even the judges call themselves "Gods" use imaginations to decide on their cases. Does the RCMP know what the legal implication is? The implication is that there is NO law and NO test standard! THOSE IN POWER CAN DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT. I believe it is unfair. They accuse me of wrong doings without evidence. That is very characteristic of ICBC. Unfortunately, it has caused me delay in employment and lost wages. The examiner accused me of driving both rear wheels on the side walk at the tight corner outside of ICBC building. However, that is based on the examiner's imagination because my wheels barely touched the side walk when turning. When the examiner states that both rear wheels are on the side walk, someone needs to be there at the rear wheels to verify. Is there any witness available or camera footage showing that both of my rear wheels are on the side walk? If there is NO camera footage, then why isn't there a camera installed for such an important road test so there is NO discrepancy?There is also another rule on the ICBC book which states that when a bus does the right turn, the driver cannot leave enough room on the right side of the bus so that a passenger vehicle can get in between the bus and the side walk because when the bus turns, the passenger vehicle can get crushed. However, to make that tight right turn off the ICBC parking lot without touching the side walk, a bus must leave enough room on the right hand side so that a passenger vehicle can get in between. That means with the design of the ICBC parking lot and the road leading to and from it, either way the ICBC examiner can fail you unless the bus can fly.The examiner also claimed that I entered the high way too slowly, and I was being dangerous. I am just wondering if ICBC can show me any bylaw that states the vehicle must have certain speed when entering the highway? The reason why I was driving slower at the time is because I was entering a highway lane, and the other vehicle in the lane that I was entering has the right of way. If I speed up and cut in front of the other vehicle, and if there is a collision, then it would be 100% my fault since I do NOT have the right of way. Therefore, I must let the other vehicle go first or leave me enough room so I can enter the highway. I have NO idea why the ICBC examiner failed me without showing me any written law that I have broken. Therefore, I believe I was unfaired treated by ICBC.I tried to explain my situation to the ICBC Driver Examiner Supervisor "Jerry Boal", but he refused to hear my side of the story. He insisted that the examiner was 100% correct. I believe it is a serious discrimination against me. Most disturbing of all, ICBC's road test is based on the examiner's OPINIONS, and sometimes their OPINION is for you to cut others off while ignoring other vehicles' right of way! If you follow the examiner's OPINIONS and get into an accident, is ICBC going to be responsible because that is what ICBC wants you to do in order to pass their road test?
09/10/2018 afternoon. Went to fill some forms at the front desk. The big beer belly blob was extremely rude and had zero customer service skills. Condescending, sarcastic and loud, won't let me speak. I wanted to walk out of the office and go to a different location. This is not the way to treat the public. Especially when you are representing the RCMP. Shame on you.
